It's Mardi Gras season!

So, over the past week, I have just been getting used to my new job. I like it because it is so different from what I have been doing. This week, I went to the Spanish Town Mardi GRas parade that was tons of fun. Went with Lewis, Jerome, kevin and Melanie. We froze in the morning, had lots to eat and drink, later that night we went to the hairspray show at the BAton Rouge river center. Sorry this is sloppy, but just trying to get stuff down before I go to bed. g'night.

FW: 4x4x4x4x4x4

My friend Stephanie sent me a FW: e-mail. I filled it out and here are the results. (p.s. Stephanie's answers are below mine.)

Justin's Answers

A) Four places that I go to over and over :
1. RaceTrac on Sherwood-this is where I am being trained for my new job.
2. Bally's on Perkins
3. BREC Recreation Centers-for volleyball on Sunday and Monday and Tennis on Saturday.
4. The casino boats with my friend Jerome.

B) Four people who e-mail me regularly: I don't receive e-mail regularly from anyone. I use a blog and facebook to keep in touch with friends/family.

C) Four of my favorite places to eat: Fish City Grill (Baton Rouge--fish tacos, YES!), India's Restaurant (in Baton Rouge - tear's of sadness Steph, but I did eat there last week and it was super yummy!!), Clover Grill (in New Orleans, they make their hamburgers under hub caps), and Cafe du Monde (in New Orleans, LOVE those beignets.)

D) Four places I would rather be right now: I am actually quite happy with where I am right now, sitting on my bed, reading funny little e-mails from my friend Stephanie Jean Lang Nuttall. But, if I could be anywhere else right now, it would be in 1. Reno, NV, hanging out with Steph, because this e-mail is making me miss her. 2. Las Vegas, NV, (I love walking the strip and seeing all the new and free things). 3. Philippines (I love it there). 4. On a cruise ship somewhere in the Caribbean.

E) Four people I think will respond: None, because I'm not sending this out in e-mail, but will just post to my blog.

F) Four TV shows I watch: 1. Wife Swap or Trading Spouses (either one is great, they always get crazy people). 2. Avatar: The last airbender (Love this cartoon). 3. The Cosby Show (This thing is always playing on reruns and when I catch it, I watch it.) 4. Scrubs (LOL, funny as heck show.)

Stephanie's answers:

A) Four places that I go to over and over : to Target (is it not THE best store?!?), the gym (though 8 am is way too early to go...), Smiths (I can't manage to it a full week without having ran out of something at the grocery store), Brent's work (I drive him to work and pick him up 3 times a week - one of the 3 places I can drive to without TomTom in Reno).

B) Four people who e-mail me regularly: Does Spam count?, Kim (yeah!!), Brent, Parents ( mine and in-laws)

C) Four of my favorite places to eat: Paula's (in St. George), India's Restaurant (in Baton Rouge - tear's of sadness Justin!!), around a camp fire or picnic table, home (as I've not yet discovered a favorite in Reno)

D) Four places I would rather be right now: India, St. George, Phoenix, Daytona (for the Nascar race) --- anyone notice, all my places are warmer than Reno?!!? ;-)

E) Four people I think will respond: Kim, Alicia, ....

F) Four TV shows I watch: Grey's Anatomy, CSI, Top Chef, Intervention

Facebook is addicting

I joined facebook two days ago and currently have 60 friends. Wow, I am so popular. LOL. I feel like I have been travelling back in time as I see friends from Logan and Blanding and other places that I have lived. To be honest, it has taken tons of time for me to send little notes and figuring out how to use the site, but it has been awesome to get in touch with a lot of good friends.

One awesome surprise was that I got back in touch with my good friend Craig H. from Logan who I have not seen or talked to for years and years. He is awesome and we had a great instant messaging conversation into the wee hours of the night. Looking forward to making more connections with awesome friends out there.

New Pastures

I try to not ever talk about work in my blog, but since this is a huge transition for me, I will do so in anonymity. I resigned from the company that I have worked for since 2001 and will start a new job next Monday with a brand new company. This new company is in a totally different industry than I am used to. It is a huge change, but I am excited for the new opportunities.

Volleyball Tournament and the Superbowl

So, I played in a volleyball tournament this past weekend with Karl and Ray in New Orleans. There were three others on the team (Christian, Damien, Brandon) from Lafayette as well. Anyway, we did ok, but ended up fourth. I was the setter and although I haven't set in forever, I think that I did ok. I was a little sore the next day, but it wasn't bad.

The next day, Lewis, Kevin, Jerome and I went to Jerome's parents house in Belle Rose, LA. I had never been there and it was fun to see Jerome's old stomping grounds. It is out in the country and like a farm community. It would've been great to grow up as a kid there. Wide open spaces and different terrain like farmland, forest, and swamp, it's a haven for a bunch of rowdy kids. It reminded me a little of home, since I am from a small town and only a mile or so from utter wilderness. Jerome's mom, Ms. Winnie cooked us some shrimp stew (yum), pork roast (yum), potatoes au gratin (yum yum), green beans (yum), and some rolls (yum). I seriously ate myself stupid and had to succumb to a 20-minute food coma after eating. Then we made popcorn balls (yum yum), of which we brought about 10 home. Jerome and I are marching right through them though.

Oh yeah, we also watched the first half of the superbowl at Jerome's parents home, then came back to Baton Rouge and watched the last quarter. At home, Kevin, Lewis, Jerome, and I played scum and poker. Then we also watched a Jeff Dunham DVD and started an Eddie Izzard DVD before it got late and we had to go to bed.

I think I am still full from the food that we ate on Sunday.
